"I honestly wasn't looking for a job. I thought to myself, “This is gonna be too good to be true.” Once I got through the interview process, it was true. Everything they tell you is exactly what they offer."

— Traci, The Johnson Team

"I actually really appreciated the long, detailed interview process. It told me for sure that we were both serious, and that we'd both put the time in to make sure it'd be a good fit."

— Katie Svatos, The Johnson Team

We've Built Something Different

Jeff Johnson learned firsthand the most effective way to manage a real estate team. Early in his career, he joined a team that did provide leads, and he did well there, but it was small, and leads were the only real support offered. In the years since, in conversation after conversation with other agents, we’ve heard the same pattern: teams that promise leads and don’t deliver them, or teams that deliver “support” that’s really just someone managing how you spend your day. So we built something different: real leads, real operational support, and the autonomy to actually run your business your way.

The Trade Is Fair

You Give Us A Share. We Give You Leverage.

Joining a team isn’t trading your freedom for a paycheck. It’s a trade where both sides owe each other something real.

You share a piece of your commission. In return, we hand you more leads every year and systems that already work, while handling the parts of this business you didn’t get into real estate to do. Your time goes toward the parts you’re actually good at.

Your database stays yours. We market to your sphere on your behalf, branded to you, for as long as you’re on the team, and not a day after you leave.

Done right, neither side is doing the other a favor. You’re both getting a better deal than you’d get alone.

"I'm fully comfortable sharing my database with the team. I'm not worried about them stealing it, or owning it. It's not them stepping back and letting themselves into my world, they're adding to my world."

— Mark, The Johnson Team

Do You Share Our Real Estate Mindset?

You believe clients come first, full stop. You put their interests ahead of your own. You lead with empathy.

You’re building a career, not just closing transactions, and you want to raise the standard in this industry, not just meet it. If that sounds like you, keep reading.

Have You Hit Your Major Goals in Life?

We’ve proven it’s possible to make $250K a year, working reasonable hours, without missing your life to do it.

Do You Value:

  1. Wealth Building
  2. Hard Work
  3. Growth Mindset
  4. Control of Your Time
  5. A Team Environment
  6. Work/Life Balance

If so, we may have a spot for you.

Focus On Brokering.
Leverage Out The Rest.

If you’re not getting enough business, or you know your database needs more attention than you’re giving it, that’s not a discipline problem, it’s a bandwidth problem. We provide stability and higher income by giving you:

  • Real leads and clients, not just training on how to find your own
  • Systems that are already built, and already work
  • Automation that gives you time back
  • Training that keeps you as the expert in the room
  • A team that has your back when a deal, or a month, gets hard

And the autonomy stays yours. We’ll train you and hold you accountable, but we will never micromanage you.

"The Johnson Team does not micromanage. I absolutely have the freedom to work with my clients the way I always have. It's just added support in all the places that are necessary."

— Katie Svatos, The Johnson Team

The Agents Who Join, Stay

Built By Agents,
For Agents

In 2024, we rebuilt our compensation plan around one idea: the more business you do, the higher your split climbs, so the team’s incentives and yours point in the same direction. But the statistic that actually proves this isn’t a compensation chart, it’s retention. Of the producing agents on this team from three years ago, 75% of them are still here today. Within the last year, 95% of active agents are still working with us. The agents currently on the team have been here an average of almost six years, several for well over a decade.

"I've never been with another team, never looked at another team. Everything I hear from people who went a different direction is that nobody ends up with the business they had when they were here."

The Plan

How You'll Join The Team

Three steps. No pressure, and no obligation until you’re ready.

Step 1: A Confidential Conversation

This starts with a private conversation, not a pitch. We’ll talk about where you are, what’s working, what isn’t, and whether our model actually solves it. If it’s not a fit, we’ll tell you.

Not ready to talk yet? Start with our Compensation Guide and a Sample Team Agreement, so you know exactly what the trade looks like before you ever pick up the phone.

Step 2: The Interview Process

This isn’t a formality. We take our time here because we want you to be as sure about us as we are about you, and that only happens through real conversations, not a five-minute call. If at any point either of us thinks it’s not quite a fit, we’ll say so. No hard feelings, and no reason it can’t be revisited down the road when the timing’s better.

Step 3: Join & Launch

Once you’re in, our admin and systems go to work immediately, so your first weeks are spent meeting your team and picking up real leads, not rebuilding a business from scratch.

What Does This Level of Success
Require From You?

In a nutshell: hard work and ownership.

Humility Ownership Teamwork Positivity Integrity Growth Grit

Or better known by our team as HOT PIGG.

What Does This Mean Practically?

Humility
I’m not the main character. Every win I’m part of is possible because of other people and some luck, and I don’t forget it.

Ownership
I own and improve what I can, not only what’s required of me.

Teamwork
A rising tide lifts every boat. I share the load and don’t keep score.

Positivity
I’m never an energy vampire. I bring gratitude and optimism, stay real, and don’t complain.

Integrity
I won’t catch myself being dishonest; my integrity matters more to me than to anyone else. I do what I say and face the hard conversations head-on.

Growth
I’m never done. I chase mastery, not perfection.

Grit
I’m self-motivated. I tackle the hardest, ugliest work first. No excuses.

What You Get In Return

Stability
Regular leads, regular closings, and teammates who actually cover for you, not just say they will.

Good Money
Our average agent of three-plus years with the team makes $200K, some closer to $300K. We’re an open book about it. Ask, and we’ll show you.

A Good Life
Most of our agents work about 40 hours a week, control their own schedule, and still have real time for the people outside of work.

Career Support
Specially-trained admin handles the process work, listing coordination, documentation, and all the parts of this job that eat your week without moving your business forward, so you can spend your time with clients instead. Leadership mentors you through every career milestone, not just your first year.

Our Mission

It’s simple: be Colorado Springs’ team of choice for clients, agents, and community.

More About The Johnson Team Culture

  1. We don’t police your hours. Show up for team meetings and events, and manage the rest like the professional you are.
  2. We’ll train you and hold you accountable, but we won’t micromanage you.
  3. We work hard, and we genuinely enjoy the people we work with.

Join A Local Team That Really Knows Our Market

Not just the real estate, but the communities and the people that make Colorado Springs our favorite place to live and work. Serving our market for close to 20 years also means we know what it takes to build a successful business that puts people first, both colleagues and clients.

We Support Our Agents

Beyond the professional growth and career benefits, agents work with The Johnson Team because we’ve reimagined what a modern real estate team actually does for its agents. We’ve built a structured environment that moves you away from granular tasks and time-consuming paperwork and toward advising clients and strategizing for their success. The alternative is another year doing this alone, or another year on a team that manages you more than it supports you. Most agents who wait aren’t waiting for a better moment, they’re waiting on a decision they’ve basically already made.
